Cal Ripken Tryouts/Senior Baseball Tryouts

Feb 25 and March 3
All tryouts take place at Athey Creek Gymnasium

• Please wear either tennis or court shoes - - NO CLEATS!!!!
• Bring a glove (bat and helmet are optional)
• Most kids will be wearing baseball pants and a hat
• Each Tryout session will last 30 minutes – please do not be late because we cannot fall behind schedule.
• You will need to arrive at the gym 20 minutes prior to your scheduled tryout time, so that your child can get checked in and have time to warm-up
• Each child will have an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to catch, throw, run and hit during the tryouts.
• Keep it Positive!!!
• Remind your child prior to tryouts, to try his best and most importantly, have fun.
• To avoid being a “hat pick”, you must attend tryouts.
• Make-up session is available to those who cannot under any circumstances make their assigned time.
• If your child does not show up for a try out on either of the two assigned dates, your child will be a hat pick, and thus be assigned to the lowest league eligible in relation to their age.
• Please understand that based on the number of teams and players that some 5th graders will play at the Major 60 Level.

Senior Baseball Tryouts:

Senior Ball tryouts are held at the West Linn High School field at batting cage facilities. These are group tryouts and players are required to attend the entire tryout.

Federal Tryouts -March 9th 7:00pm -9:00pm and March 10th 3:00pm – 5:00pm

American & National Tryouts March 10th 6:00pm – 8:00pm and March 11th 1:00pm – 3:00pm

All players are determined by the birth chart shown below.  May 1 of any year shall be the deciding date.  Any player born prior to May 1, 2007 and on or after May 1, 1999 will be eligible for Cal Ripken Baseball League.  Bambino- any player born prior to May 1, 2007 is eligible.  Cal Ripken- any player born on or after May 1, 1999 is eligible.
